Wufoo Can Now Automatically Update Your Campaign Monitor Subscriber Lists

Developed by the Sydney based crew over at [Freshview](http://www.freshview.com/), [Campaign Monitor](http://campaignmonitor.com) is a web-based email marketing service that shares a common mission with Wufoo–helping users develop beautiful end products. In fact, their application was built exclusively for designers to send email newsletters for themselves and their clients. On any given week more than 800 new companies become Campaign Monitor customers!

Integrating your Wufoo form with Campaign Monitor is now really easy. Just go to the [Notification Settings](https://help.wufoo.com/articles/en_US/kb/Notifications/) for a form that’s collecting email addresses you want to add to a subscriber list and then follow along with Tim in this screencast:

Campaign Monitor Screencast

Thanks to our recently released [integration platform](http://www.wufoo.com/2010/01/20/send-real-time-updates-from-wufoo-to-your-favorite-web-apps/), you’ll be able to a more easily transition between collecting leads with Wufoo and getting in touch with those leads in mass. Now, instead of having to export your data to CSV and then import them into your subscriber list every time you want to get in touch with all the email addresses you’ve gathered, you can just set up real-time notifications to automatically update your subscriber lists as they come into your Wufoo form.

Campaign Monitor Steps

Please note that this integration **does not** allow you to export names and emails that have already been collected through your form. It only works on entries after the integration is set up. Past entries would still need to be exported from Wufoo and then imported to Campaign Monitor.

Integration with Campaign Monitor is available to all users across all plans, so we hope you do take advantage of it. Thanks go out to the Freshview team and their well documented API for their help and support. We’re really excited about this integration and can’t wait to cater to the Campaign Monitor fanbase. If you want to learn more about how to integrate Wufoo’s real time notifications with other great web applications, check out our [integration documentation](https://help.wufoo.com/articles/en_US/kb/Integrations/).

**UPDATE :** Thanks to Tim’s hard work behind the scenes, we’ve just added custom field matching and the ability to only send entries to CampaignMonitor based on a checkbox value on a Wufoo form. Have at it!

  • Awesome! I use both services and this will save time transferring names manually. Sweet!

  • Great stuff – works like a charm.

Thinking out load: Would it be possible to hold on to the information until a payment is set as paid on entries in forms where you accept payments?
But this might not be so easy as it sounds like I would imagine.

Another great opportunity would be to integrate to custom fields in campaign monitor aswell – that seems like a easier option than the above.

  • +1 for adding custom fields asap please!

I need to setup a form on wufoo that captures various info about customers, and then use those fields to create list segments in CampaignMonitor…without the custom fields being transferred i can only email everyone or no one and that makes me sad. 🙁

  • Hi,
This is a brilliant idea. Thank you, however intergrating this into a client site wouldn’t work for me becuase of the wufoo branded header on the form. Is there anyway to remove this? I had a quick look at your pricing and could see anyway to do this… Please advise.

  • I agree, I think this has the potential to be incredibly useful but without the ability to filter at least based on a checkbox, its usefulness is minimal. Never-the-less, I was able to implement this immediatly on a few specific forms

  • Dan, you can change the logo on the form even on the free plan. You can do this with the Theme Designer and can read more about this in our documentation: http://wufoo.com/docs/theme-designer/#changeLogo

  • This is terrific! Any way you can add Constant Contact to that list?!? That would be a blessing!

  • Wow, thanks for the quick reply Kevin. Yes! I stand corrected. I followed the link and there it was the customizations I’d been day dreaming about. Im yet to try it out on a live site however the video made sense. I’ll be happy to pay for it once I see it in action and have enough clients! Blessings & Many Thanks!

  • Yes, please please add custom field support!

  • Hi all, Custom Field support is live with our Field Matching interface along with the ability to use checkbox conditions for updating email lists. Enjoy!

  • Tim, that is excellent news! This is going to be a tremendous boost. Thanks!

  • This is fantastic – one of the reasons we love wufoo! One additional feature request – could radio button responses be added to the conditional query? Because we have forms where depending on which radio button they select, they should go into a different list.

  • Field matching doesn’t seem to work for checkboxes and radio buttons. Am I doing something wrong, or is this by design? I have a wufoo form which allows people to select which topics they’d like to subscribe to, this functionality doesn’t seem do-able with the current setup.

  • @sara, we’ve discussed adding rules for the processing of integrations, but for now this is simply a concept. We don’t currently have this feature on our 4 month roadmap.

Posted January 21st, 2010 by Tim Sabat.
  • @Jaymis, because there was no way to keep the wufoo and MailChimp multi-value fields in sync, we decided that wufoo will only match single-value MailChimp fields. So, this means no Checkbox or DropDown from the MailChimp side.

This does not, however, prevent you from segmenting on a wufoo Multi-Value field. You can still assign a wufoo Checkbox or Drop-Down to a text merge field in MailChimp and segment based on the known wufoo values.
